Introduction

Our novelty lenses are fun, effective and such good value for money! They are designed for normal, healthy eyes only. Each lens has a clear circle in the middle so that your pupil can see through it. If you already wear contact lenses to improve your vision then please be aware that our novelty lenses do not contain any prescription qualities whatsoever and will therefore not improve or increase your vision in any way. Please do not wear our novelty lenses on top of any other contact lenses, prescription or otherwise.

Choosing Your Lenses

As you may have seen, we offer a massive selection of styles within our contact lenses range and we think you will be completely spoilt for choice!

First, you should decide how long you would like your new lenses to last. Are you going to wear them just once or twice within a short period of time and then throw them away? If so then our HypnotEyes and DemonEyes ranges are great because they are usable for up to three months after opening. On the other hand, if you want to be able to use your new lenses for up to 12 months after opening then our TerrorEyes range will be perfect for you. Providing you care for your lenses properly, there is no reason why your lenses cannot be usable for the maximum amount of time specified.

Checking Your Lenses

Your new lenses will arrive individually sealed into their own small amount of solution. Wash, rinse and dry your hands thoroughly. Prior to inserting the lens, check that it is free from notches and tears. Under no circumstances should you use lenses that are dried out or damaged. Rinse the lens with solution before you insert it. If the lens is damaged, do not use it. Also, check that the soft lens has not turned inside out.

Fitting Your Lenses

Place the lens on the tip of your forefinger and hold it at eye level - make sure that you are looking at the inner surface of the lens. Next, place your middle finger of the same hand close to the lower eye lash and press the lid slightly downwards. Now use the forefinger or middle finger of the other hand to move the upper eyelash slightly upwards and place the lens upon your eye. Carefully release both lids now and blink a little. Normally, the lens will automatically move to the middle of your eye upon insertion.

On rare occasions, the lens will misalign to the white of your eye. This might happen when insertion and removal have been done wrongly. In order to centre a lens, close your eyelids and use your finger to gently move the lens slowly into the right position through the closed eyelid. Another way of doing this is to gently pull apart the upper and lower eyelids, applying slight pressure, and then carefully readjusting the lens while the eye is open.

Should your vision be blurred after inserting the lens, first check that the lens is located in the centre of your eye - if it isn't then follow the instructions above. Otherwise, remove the lens and check that it has not become tainted with cosmetics or oil - if that is the case then cleanse the lens thoroughly in solution and re-insert it. You should also re-check that you are not inserting the lens the wrong way around (ie, back to front). If vision continues to be blurred then you should remove the lens and consult your optician.

Removing Your Lenses

Wash, rinse and dry your hands thoroughly. Always ensure that the lens is situated in the centre of your eye before attempting to remove it.

In order to localise the lens, look downwards to a mirror and check the surface of your eye. Look upwards and carefully push the lens downwards to the white of your eye, using your forefinger. Now, compress the lens with your forefinger and thumb until it bulges, at which time you can then remove the lens.

Care and Storage

Meticulous hygiene is essential with the use and storage of contact lenses. To clean your lenses, first wash and dry your hands thoroughly. Place one of your lenses in the palm of your hand and rub it gently with a few drops of fresh lens solution for approximately 20 seconds, preferably using your forefinger. After you have finished, replace the lens into a suitable storage container with an adequate amount of fresh lens solution.

Fashion lenses are designed for normal, healthy eyes. If corneal irregularity, allergies or other eye conditions exist do not use fashion lenses and contact your optician.

Do not share your lenses with anyone else. Do not wear your lenses whilst swimming, driving a car, motorcycle or bicycle, or when operating machinery. Do not sleep in your lenses.

After opening your lenses, they are usable for a certain amount of time only.
